Privacy policy
Data controller
The data controller is the website publisher, Nathan Knaebel, who can be contacted at thefeaturingclub@gmail.com.
Data collected
When you create an account, we collect:
- Your email address
- A password (stored in encrypted form, never in plain text)
- Your username
- Your match history: scores, records, ranking, moves played and response times
- Your game preferences: language, avatar, emblem and title displayed on your profile
If you log in with Google, Discord or Facebook, we only receive the basic information from your profile (name or username, email address, profile picture) needed to create the account, along with the technical tokens that allow you to log in again. We never have access to your password for these services, we do not view your friends list or your posts, and we never post anything on your behalf.
You can also play without creating an account (guest mode). A temporary account is then generated to run the current match: it contains no personal data (no email, no password), and your scores are not linked to an identity.
If you report an error in the game, the content of your report is recorded so that it can be checked and corrected.
Purpose
This data is used solely to run the player account, save your matches, manage the leaderboard and correct reported errors. It is not sold, not shared with third parties for commercial purposes, and not used for targeted advertising.
Your username, avatar and scores are visible to other players on the leaderboard and during multiplayer matches. Your email address is never displayed publicly.
Legal basis
The processing of your account data is based on the performance of the service you request (playing, saving your scores, appearing on the leaderboard). Anonymous audience measurement is based on the publisher's legitimate interest in knowing how the website is used.
Data hosting
The website and its database are hosted on the same virtual private server rented from Scaleway SAS (BP 438, 75366 Paris Cedex 08, France) and located in France. Your data is neither stored nor transferred outside the European Union, and is not entrusted to any third-party storage provider.
Retention
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. Guest accounts and their matches, which are not linked to any identity, may be purged periodically.
You can delete your account at any time, directly from the "My profile" page, at the very bottom. Deletion permanently erases your email address, password, username, progress and ranking. Your past matches are kept anonymously, under an account with no name, so as not to erase your opponents' history: they can no longer be used to identify you.
You can also write to us at thefeaturingclub@gmail.com to request this deletion if you no longer have access to your account.
Your rights
In accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your personal data, as well as the right to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below: we reply within one month at most.
Contact: thefeaturingclub@gmail.com
If you believe your rights have not been respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr).
Cookies
The website uses a technical session cookie (to manage logins), which is necessary for the game to work, as well as local storage on your device to keep your preferences (theme, language) and allow offline use. No consent is required for these strictly necessary uses. The ads described below may set their own cookies.
Advertising
The game is free and partly funded by advertising: a short ad may be shown between two matches, never during a round. These ads are provided by Google (Google Ireland Limited) through its AdSense for Games service, which may use cookies or device identifiers to serve them, limit how often they repeat and prevent fraud.
The ads are non-personalised: they are not based on your browsing history. No data from your account (email, username, scores) is passed to Google. To find out more: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
You can buy gems, or permanently remove ads from your account with a one-off purchase. On the website, payment is processed by Stripe; in the Android app, by Google Play. We never see your card number: we only keep a record of the purchase (product, amount, date, email) for accounting purposes.
Audience measurement
We use a self-hosted analytics solution, with no cookies and no profiling, which only measures aggregated data (number of visits, pages viewed, device type). No data that could personally identify you is collected or passed on to a third party.
Third-party services
The information about players and clubs used by the game comes from third-party public databases. This data is retrieved server-side, without passing any of your personal data to these services: these providers do not know which player is looking at which profile.
The "Buy Me a Coffee" donation link on the website leads to an external service with its own privacy policy; no data from your Football Fight account is passed to it.
