About

The game, its data and the people behind it

The game

Football Fight is a free football knowledge game you play in your browser. The idea fits in one sentence: you get a player, you name one of his former teammates, then a teammate of that one, and so on. Every right answer makes the chain longer. One mistake or thirty seconds without an answer, and the match is over.

Why this game

Get football fans together and the argument always ends the same way: "He played with him, I'm telling you." Football Fight settles it. It rewards the ones who remember squads, forgotten loan spells and seasons spent at a mid-table club. Knowing the stars gets you started. To go far, you need to know who played next to them.

Where the careers come from

Player careers come from Wikidata, the free knowledge base linked to Wikipedia. Two players are teammates if they wore the same shirt, for a club or a national team, for at least one season together. A database this big is bound to have gaps. If a name gets wrongly rejected, report it at the end of the match: every report is checked by hand, then the database is fixed for everyone.

Five ways to play

Against the computer, on three levels, to beat your personal best. Online, 1v1 against a random opponent, with a rank on the leaderboard. In a private match, with a link to send to a friend. In battle royale, with a group, where the last one standing wins. And every week, a 64-player tournament with one round a day.

Free, for real

Every match is free and your first one kicks off without an account. An account keeps your scores, your daily streak and your rank. You earn gems by playing: when you sign up, every day, on every match (more when you win) and on challenges. They pay for hints, the joker and cosmetics. The shop sells them too, along with an option that removes ads for good, but you never need to buy anything to progress or enter a tournament.

Ten languages

You can play in French, English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German, Italian, Dutch, Turkish, Polish and Indonesian. Club and country names show up in your language, and two players using different languages can face each other in the same match.

Who's behind it

Football Fight is designed and built in France by an independent developer who loves football. The publisher's contact details are in the legal notice.
